About Our Dentures

In some cases, dental conditions can be too severe to treat by restoring your natural teeth. Instead, you may need to remove the damaged teeth to protect your mouth from further infection. When this happens, we may recommend dentures to replace your teeth in a quick and affordable manner.

Complete Dentures (“Full Plates”)

Designed to replace all the teeth in your mouth, complete dentures are what most people think of when discussing denture designs. These prosthetic appliances are removable devices that fit snuggly in your mouth and can be removed at any time.

Getting a complete denture made is a straightforward process. First, Dr. Bral will need to extract any remaining teeth and treat any active infections. Next, we’ll take molds of your mouth to create custom-fitting dentures that fit securely and snug to your gum tissues.

Creating these new dentures can take a few weeks or so. If you require dental extractions, our Jericho, NY dentist may be able to provide you with a same-day appliance that simply needs to be adjusted or relined after your mouth has recovered from the extractions.

Partial Dentures

If you are missing a few teeth here and there but still have several healthy ones, then we may suggest partial dentures. Instead of covering your entire jaw as a full denture would, the partial denture is much smaller and only fills in the spaces of your missing teeth.

This removable device features clasps that secure your appliance to your healthy teeth to hold the denture in place. Partial dentures feature natural-looking teeth and acrylic gums that blend in with the rest of your mouth.

Partial Removable Denture

Getting a partial denture is very easy. After Dr. Bral evaluates your mouth, he will take impressions and identify the anchor teeth that will hold the denture in place. Our lab then uses these impressions to create dentures that perfectly fit to fill the gaps between your teeth.

Implant-Supported Dentures

With Jericho Dental, you can also use dental implants to hold dentures in place. By doing so, the denture does not rest on the gums, reducing irritation and improving comfort throughout the day. Different types of implant-supported dentures are available, ranging from clip-on overdentures to permanent implant-supported prosthetics.

Dr. Bral will examine your mouth and bone structure to make sure you qualify for dental implants. Next, he’ll install as few as two implants to help provide the necessary support. Each case varies, so it’s best to meet with us for a consultation to determine your specific care plan.
